About Me

Summer 2020 Look #wearamask

Hey!

I’m not going to spend too much time in my “about me” because if you’re reading this, there’s a 90% chance I sent you, and therefore you know me!

But really this is just a space for my overactive mind to drop any items or ramblings I have throughout the day. I’m also just planning to see where it goes. Maybe I’ll become more intentional with my blog or maybe I’ll forget to use it. That’s why I started with the free version of WordPress – no strings attached!

For now, I’m using this site as my collection of sticky notes. If you’ve been to my apartment or have ever lived or worked with me, you know I’m a note taker. I tend to come up with my best thoughts at very inconvenient times, like right in the middle of focusing on work (deep work as my dad and I have come to call it. You know the headphones on and in the zone kind of working?) and that’s where sticky notes come into play. Or really any paper I can find around me. Currently I have 5 notebooks that are being utilized at one time. Each for different things. I was thinking the categories at the top of this site can each be their own little notebook. Recipes, travel ideas/memories (see you soon post covid world), family stuff, pictures I take, songs I want to remember, just about anything.

As a millennial it’s easy to head to a social media outlet to share my thoughts or to blow up 10 of my friends cell phones at once when I find a must read link.  Sometimes that’s the venue I’m going for. A place to share my thoughts open up a discussion with fellow followers or shout about how much I love my friends and family on special occasions (birthdays keep me young – I love them). But at times it’s nice to just say something and not have to carry on a dialogue with others. That’s where this comes in to play.

So for now, I really don’t know what this site will be other than a dumping ground or journal perhaps for myself. It’s refreshing to open up a site and not immediately be distracted by media outlet posts or live streams or likes and dislikes and be able to just start writing (before I forget what I wanted to say in the first place). A space for just my thoughts – a rare occasion these days.

Lastly, I should note that I’m starting this blog during the second wave of the pandemic. If I continue writing for quite some time here, I want to make sure I remember that this was the timeline. I’m thinking all this free time we have while staying safe at home is a good place to start and see if I’ll actually finally commit to having a blog.

Cheers!

Meg
