Essentially a tour that consisted of gathering bachelorette supplies from local distilleries, breweries, cheese shops, and more.
Recently, I’ve been working on adding more of my travel notes to this blog. I found my first long feature (on Scottsdale) to be really fun to write but quite time consuming. Therefore, I haven’t quite gotten around to finishing up the second one featuring Portland, Maine. I’ve been to Portland numerous times in the last 10 plus years and love it more each time. The downside of this is that I have a lot of information and places I want to include.
That blog will eventually be completed but for now I’m putting down this quick route that I created in 2021. We were headed to Portland en route to my best friends family camp in Castine, Maine (another absolute coastal gem) to celebrate her bachelorette with ten other women. Kels and I both had a few days off before needing to rendezvous in Castine so we left from Boston and on the drive, stopped in Portland for a full day and night before continuing the drive.
While we were in town I wanted to gather as many local items as possible to be enjoyed by the group. Given that this was a bachelorette and many of the women drink, this post is quite heavy on the breweries and distilleries. We enjoyed plenty of incredible food while in town too but that goes without saying when you’re in Portland.
I found this list I had written before the ride and sent a picture to Kels to get her pumped. Instead of getting into major detail and worrying about relaying every little moment, this blog is simply going to be this intro and the picture below. I would recommend and go back to each place on this list. It’s worth noting that the times listed are walking time from our hotel. We stayed at the Hyatt in Old Port due to the prime location and option to use my Chase points for a free night. You can also see a few of the spots have notes to remember while there. Chances are many of this spots will appear in my extended Portland, Maine post coming up in the future so stay tuned for more!
