Occasionally I copy exactly what I put on Instagram and Facebook and plant it here. It’s really for myself so I can easily access the posts that mean the most to me. And this is one of those.

A superintendent in West Virginia went viral when she sent a letter canceling school today – the first snow day of the year. Kids and teachers were working and learning remotely so technically speaking they could still complete the school day. But she wanted to remind families to “make some memories with your family that you hold on to for life”.

She went on to say, “So please, enjoy a day of sledding snd hot chocolate and cozy fires. Take pictures of your kids in the snow hats they will outgrow by next year”.

That’s precisely what you see above. Just four siblings (likely freezing cold) making memories (while mb took pictures of us. and while my dad was likely upstairs attempting to work from home). I can’t say I remember these exact moments in time but when I look at these pictures it puts that same cheeky smile on my face and gives me that same sense of joy. Now go enjoy this beautiful snow day! Even if it’s from the warmth of your home.
